“It’s a joy to be hidden, and a disaster not to be found.” Donald Winnicott
While I enjoy working with a variety of therapeutic approaches, I am primarily psychodynamic in orientation. This means that I believe that our early environment and experiences have a profound impact on our way of understanding and relating to the world. As adults, we may discover that we are unable to create the lives we want while being constrained by unhelpful internal constructs, feelings, and behaviors stemming from our younger years. When working together, we will bring focus to where you may feel stuck and at dis-ease in your life, allowing the space to feel more and understand more. By exploring the parts of who you are, conscious and unconscious, there can be a meeting of one’s internal world, a deepening of self- awareness, and a creation of new experiences.
My work is also deeply influenced by psychoanalytic thought, including the work of Melanie Klein, Wilfred Bion, and other theorists from the British Object Relations field of study.
I welcome all into my office. I intentionally hold each individual’s context and identity including race, culture, gender, sexuality and religion with honor. If at anytime we decide working together is not in your best interest, I will provide referrals to other professionals who might better support you.
